What are appointment holds?

This article explains the concept of appointment holds and how they are used to reserve appointment slots for client on a single or recurring basis.

While an appointment or recurring appointment is being held, only the client specified by the appointment hold is permitted to enroll in that appointment slot. Typically, appointment holds are used to reserve a specific appointment slot for a client while they are still considering whether to enroll.

Next, specify an expiration date for the appointment hold.

During the hold period this appointment slot - the combination of service, time, date/day of week, and teacher - will be unavailable to anyone except the client for whom the hold was created.

Additionally, you may provide an appointment hold note in the 'Note' field that will be visible to staff. After the expiration date is passed, that appointment slot will become open to other clients.

Once you have specified an expiration date and/or a note, click the 'Place Hold' button to create an appointment hold.
