How to sync opus1.io to your calendar - Apple and Google

Sync your calendar to Apple and Google Calendars

The below tutorial entails the steps on how to sync your calendar to:

1. Apple Calendar

2. Google Calendar

Staff and teachers can sync opus1.io to their calendars.

New: Student names can now be included in the event title on a synced calendar by toggling "Include client names in synced calendar events titles" in your Business Settings:

For teachers: go to profile and click 'Sync My Calendar'.

For other staff (manager or owners) you may need to click on the '...' first to show 'Sync My Calendar'.

This will take you to the screen below.

Note that staff automatically have client profiles as well, so this setting needs to be toggled on for Teachers and Staff.

Next, it will ask you for permission- click PROCEED. Then click OPEN MY CALENDAR TO SYNC and it will generate a link for the sync.

1. The following is how to sync opus1.io to your Apple Calendar:

When using the sync feature, you can replace "webcal://" with "https://"

Here you can make some adjustments under the Calendar Info settings:

In this case, use the name of the teacher. If you are the staff/teacher, you could name this as opus1.io Calendar or the name of the School Business, it's up to you. 

Color Scheme: 

You can set a specific color for your opus1.io calendar.

Subscribed to:

Again, just ensure that you have "https://" instead of "webcal://" at the beginning of the URL.

Location: 

Select where the calendar is going to be locally saved.

Remove:

You have options to remove alerts and attachments.

Last Update: 

Shows you when the calendar was last updated.

Auto Refresh Setting:

Every 5 minutes

Every 15 minutes

Every hour

Every day

Every week

Ignore Alerts:

Option to turn off notifications for alerts

A successfully synced Apple Calendar will look like this:

It shows the calendar name on the left. And the schedules are in the designated color. In this example, there are two teacher calendars that were synced; all green schedules are marked for teacher Joe Satriani while the other teacher Angeline Quinto has her schedule in purple.

2. The following is how to sync opus1.io to your Google Calendar:

In your Google Calendar, locate 'Other Calendar' and click on the '+' icon

This will let you add an external calendar, you have a URL that was generated by opsu1.io, please select 'From URL'.

It will direct you to this page wherein you would need to paste the URL generated by opus1.io.

Again, just ensure that you have "https://" instead of "webcal://" at the beginning of the URL.

Once you see that the calendar has been added you can do some additional tweaks on the Calendar Settings.

Click on the '...' right beside the newly added calendar to access settings.

    • Timezone

    • Permission Settings
    • Event Notifications
    • All-day event notifications
    • Other notifications
    • Integrate Calendar
    • Remove Calendar

Note: Google Calendar does not support adjusting refresh rates of imported calendars, so keep that in mind because it may not be fully up to date on scheduled lessons. 

Lastly, although this is a feature that we have, we still recommend that staff and teachers log in on their accounts instead of using Google Calendar due to the potential delay in the refresh rate as it is not 100% reliable.
