Client Comments vs. Staff Comments

Distinguishing Client Comments from Staff Comments

In opus1.io there are two ways for your clients and staff members to communicate with one another: Client Comments and Staff Comments.

Client Comments

Every user on your opus1.io has their own message board for client comments, whether they are a client or a staff member. Client comments were designed for communication between instructors and clients and their account managers. Client users can only send messages using client comments. When they log in, their client comments are located to the right of their profile information.

Each client has their own client comments. Sending messages in client comments is permitted to clients, their account managers, and all staff members. Each client can view only their own client comments board and those of their dependents.

When sending a message via client comments, users can choose which staff should be notified via email.

Limited staff can send messages to their own students via client comments. Limited staff that shares clients can see each other's messages on the shared client's client comments.

Staff Comments

Staff comments are visible only to users with staff-level permissions and above (staff, managers, owners). Staff comments were designed for internal business communications.

If you tag a limited staff member using the @ sign, that limited staff will receive an email notification with the contents of that message, but they cannot log in and view the client's staff comments.
