Migrating Existing Terms and Conditions to T&C Policies

A guide to migrating from per-service terms and conditions to terms and conditions policies (T&C V2)

Background

  • Prior to the release of Terms and Conditions Version 2 (March 2025), each service in opus1.io contained its own terms and conditions section. Updating terms and conditions in this context required updating each service individually or using batch update for services to make changes for a group of services.
  • However, most services have identical or very similar terms and conditions for most businesses.
  • In T&C V2, terms and conditions policies are created and assigned to services, rather than setting terms and conditions for each service individually.
  • Businesses that onboarded to opus1.io prior to the release of T&C V2 may wish to migrate their existing per-service terms and conditions to terms and conditions policies to enable more seamless management of terms and conditions for their customers.

Migrating Existing Terms and Conditions to T&C Policies (T&V V2)

  • Migrating your existing services to terms and conditions policies is the same process as setting up new terms and conditions policies and publishing them to your services.
  • Please see our guide here on setting up new terms and conditions policies and publishing them to your services.
  • If you are also making changes to your terms and conditions while migrating to terms and conditions policies, you may want to migrate all existing customers' subscriptions to the latest version of your terms and conditions, prompting them to re-accept terms and conditions. See the article linked above for instructions on migrating subscriptions to the latest version of a T&C policy.
