How do I set up a week-long camp, Monday to Friday?
Sell summer camp by the week so one signup puts a camper on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. In Opus1.io, the camp is a Group Class, each week is one Class with a Full Class Payment plan, and Add Date(s) schedules the week: Recurring on, Repeat set to Daily, End after 5, starting on the Monday. Start on any other day and the dates land on the weekend.

Overview
Say your school runs Summer Strings Camp, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for $350 a week. You sell the week of June 8 and the week of June 15. A family buys one week, and their camper is on all five days of that week and none of the other.
Opus1.io builds that in three layers:
| Layer | What it holds | Summer Strings Camp |
|---|---|---|
| Group class (the service) | Length of one camp day, camp size, payment plans, emails | Summer Strings Camp |
| Class | One week you sell, with its own roster | Week of June 8 (June 8–12) |
| Class dates | The five days on the calendar, in a room | Monday to Friday, June 8–12, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM |
Why: A Full Class Payment enrolls a camper on every date of one class. Putting the five days on one class makes one payment cover the week. Making each week its own class keeps a June 8 family off the June 15 roster.
This article covers the camp-specific choices. The general walkthrough for building any group class, including who can do it, is How do I create a group class? Owners and Managers build the camp and its dates in Opus1.io. Once a week has dates, Staff can enroll campers too.
Before you start
Opus1.io saves whatever you enter, so decide these before you open Add Service:
- One camp, or two. Weeks that share the same day length and the same price can live in one group class. A half-day camp, or a week that costs more, is its own group class, because length and payment plans are set once and every week inherits them.
- The length of one camp day, in minutes. 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM is 360 minutes. Every date ends when that number says it does.
- How many campers. Without a camp size, online signup keeps accepting families.
- The weekly price, and when it is due. At signup, on the first morning, or a set number of days before that morning.
- The Monday of each week. The daily schedule starts on that Monday.
If you use rooms, add the camp to Applicable services on each room it meets in. Otherwise Opus1.io warns Service not available for room when you schedule. Owners and Managers can still save. The warning only means the room is set up for something else.
Create the camp
Where: Settings > Services > Add Service
- Click Add Service.
- Choose Group Class.
- Click Continue.
Name, Short Description, and Description are required. Most other settings work the same as for any group class. These five are the ones a camp needs set differently:
| Setting | What to enter for a camp | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The camp families recognize, such as Summer Strings Camp | Every week shares this name. The week itself, such as Week of June 8, goes on the class. |
| What is the duration of each appointment or class? | 360 for a 9:00 AM–3:00 PM day | Every date's end time comes from this number. |
| How many clients can attend a class or appointment of this service? | Turn it on and enter the cap, such as 12 | Left off, there is no limit and online signup never fills. |
| How many days after the start of the class can a client have their first scheduled date of the class? | 1 | It starts at 15, which keeps online signup open into the following week. At 1, families can join up to the first morning. The front desk can still enroll after that. |
| Can visitors see this service? and Can clients see this service? | Off for now | Turn them on once the week and its dates are finished, so families never find a half-built camp. |
Click Create Service. Opus1.io shows Service created and returns you to your services list. The camp exists, but nothing is on the calendar yet.
💡 Tip: Open the camp's Notifications / Templates tab before the first family enrolls. Confirmation and reminder emails written for weekly lessons can read oddly for a day camp.
Add the week price
Where: the camp's Payment tab
Create a payment plan and choose Full Class Payment. That is a one-time payment that enrolls the camper on every date of the class. Name it the way your front desk will recognize it, such as Summer Strings Camp - Week, and fill in the plan description if families will read it online.
| On the plan | What to choose for a week of camp |
|---|---|
| How is it charged? | Flat rate, no first month proration for one price per week. A closed holiday in the middle of the week does not change it. Choose Variable rate based on number of visits only if you price per day: Opus1.io multiplies the daily price by the days actually held, so a closed day is not charged. |
| When is the first payment due? | Payment due at sign-up, Payment due at first visit, or Payment due a certain number of days before the first visit. |
Enable for Self Booking on the plan stays off until you turn it on. Leave it off while only your front desk enrolls campers. Save with Update Service.
Add one class for the week
Where: open the camp, then Classes > Add Class
Each class in Opus1.io is one week you sell, with its own roster. In the Add Class window:
- Class Name (required). The week families are buying, such as Week of June 8 (June 8–12).
- Location (required). Where the camp meets. You pick the room when you schedule dates.
- Primary Staff (optional). The teacher families see when they sign up online.
- Class size and age limits (optional). Leave these off to use the camp's settings. Turn them on when this week has its own cap or a narrower age group.
Click Submit. The week now appears on the Classes tab, but it has no dates, so there is nothing to enroll campers into yet.
Schedule Monday through Friday
Where: open the class, then Add Date(s)
This is the step that puts the week on your Opus1.io calendar. The page is titled Schedule Class Date(s), and its location is already filled in from the class.
- Name (required). Usually the week again, such as Week of June 8.
- Room. The studio the camp meets in. A class date holds that room as soon as it exists, even before anyone enrolls.
- Staff (optional). The teacher for these dates. Set primary staff makes the first teacher you pick this week's primary staff.
- Start Date and time. The Monday the week starts, such as Monday, June 8, at 9:00 AM. The end time follows the camp's length.
- Recurring. Turn it on.
- Repeat. Change it from Weekly to Daily. The menu opens on Weekly.
- End. Leave it on After, and enter 5 in the occurrences field.
- Skip scheduling date(s) when location is not available. Leave it on, so a day your location is closed for a holiday is marked closed instead of scheduled as normal.
Click Submit. Opus1.io confirms with Successfully scheduled class dates.
Why Daily and 5: Daily, starting on a Monday and ending after five occurrences, is exactly Monday through Friday. There is no weekday checklist on this page, so the Monday you start on and the count of five are what keep the weekend out. Weekly does something different: it repeats the start date's weekday once a week, so Weekly with End After 5 is five Mondays in a row.
If the room or teacher is already booked at that time, Opus1.io warns you. You can go back and change it, or save anyway.
Check the five dates
Open the class. You should see five dates, all at the camp's hours:
| Date | What you should see |
|---|---|
| Monday, June 8 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM |
| Tuesday, June 9 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM |
| Wednesday, June 10 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM |
| Thursday, June 11 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM |
| Friday, June 12 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM |
Saturday and Sunday should not appear. If your location is closed for a holiday on one of those days, that date stays in the list marked closed. Opus1.io does not move it to Saturday. If the camp should still meet five days, click Add Date(s) again, leave Recurring off, and add the makeup day on its own.
Your front desk enrolls a camper from Enroll In Class. With a Full Class Payment plan, that one enrollment places them on every date of the week.
ℹ️ Note: Edit Class changes the class itself, such as its name or class size. It does not move dates you have already scheduled.
Fix a week that scheduled wrong
Each of these comes from one setting on the Opus1.io Schedule Class Date(s) page. If no camper is enrolled yet, cancel the wrong dates from the calendar, then schedule the week again. For the difference between cancellation types, see How do I choose a regular or late cancellation? under Related Articles.
| What you see | What happened | Schedule it again with |
|---|---|---|
| Five Mondays in a row | Repeat was still on Weekly | Repeat set to Daily |
| Saturday and Sunday on the calendar | The start date was not a Monday. Daily counts every calendar day, so a Wednesday start runs Wednesday to Sunday | Start Date on the Monday of the camp week |
| Dates keep going past Friday | End was set to Never | End set to After, with 5 |
Let families sign up online
Your front desk can enroll campers in Opus1.io as soon as the plan and the five dates exist. For families to buy a week online, every row below has to be in place:
| What | Where | What goes wrong if it is missed |
|---|---|---|
| The camp is visible | Can visitors see this service? and Can clients see this service? on the camp | Families never see it. Visitors means families who are not signed in. |
| A plan families can buy | Enable for Self Booking on the Full Class Payment plan | The week shows up, but there is nothing to pay for at checkout. |
| The week allows it | Enable Self-Booking on the class | A week marked Self-booking disabled stays front-desk only. New classes allow it unless you turn it off. |
| The five dates exist | Add Date(s) on the class | Families join dates you have scheduled. They cannot pick their own. |
| The join window fits a camp | The first-scheduled-date setting on the camp, set to 1 | At the default of 15, families can still join after the week is underway. |
Families also need a self-booking link of type Group Class Self-Booking that includes the camp. For new families, turn on Make accessible by visitors, click Add Link, then click Update Business. The link is not saved until Update Business succeeds.
Test it before you share it. Open the link in a private or incognito browser window, so you see exactly what a new family sees. Choose the camp and the week, and check the week's name, the price, and that its dates run Monday to Friday. Stop before you pay. A mistake caught here costs you nothing; one caught after families enroll means moving campers.
Waitlist. A camp has no waitlist until you set one up. On the camp, set How many clients can be on the waitlist for a class of this service?, then click Enable Waitlist on each week that should have one. Enable Waitlist Notification emails the next family when a spot opens.
Add the next week
The week of June 15 is another class in the same Opus1.io camp, as long as the day length and the price match.
- On the Classes tab, click Duplicate Class on Week of June 8. The copy has "(copy)" added to its name. It does not copy dates or enrolled campers, and it copies the waitlist only if you turn on Include waitlist.
- Rename the copy with Edit Class, for example Week of June 15 (June 15–19).
- Open it, click Add Date(s), and schedule it the same way: Start Date Monday, June 15, at 9:00 AM, Recurring on, Repeat set to Daily, End after 5.
- Click Submit.
Check that the new week lists June 15–19 and that Week of June 8 is unchanged.
FAQ
Can a family buy just one day of camp?
Yes. Add a second plan to the camp, Per visit payment (cash or credit), for drop-in days. The week stays one class with five dates, so families can still buy it as a package. Setting up Monday through Friday as five separate classes would turn one signup into five.
We also run a half-day camp. Can it go in the same group class?
No. Day length is set once on the group class, and every date inside it uses that length, so a 9:00 AM–12:00 PM camp is its own group class. Two full-day groups at the same hours and price, such as ages 5–7 and ages 8–10, can be two classes in one camp, each with its own age limits.
Can one signup cover two weeks?
Only if every camper attends both. A Full Class Payment enrolls the camper on every date of the class, so ten dates on one class means everyone is on all ten. Weeks you sell separately belong on separate classes.
Can I set up the camp before I know which Monday it starts?
Yes. Create the camp and its week, and wait on Add Date(s) until the Monday is set. Nothing appears on the calendar, and no room is held, until you schedule dates.
Do I need a teacher on every day?
No. Opus1.io lets you leave both Primary Staff and the teacher on each date empty. Add one when someone should appear to families at signup and be paid for the camp. If a substitute covers one day, change the teacher on that date only. The primary staff stays the teacher families see.
