[Cancellation](https://kb.opus1.io/services?hsLang=en#cancellation) # Can I set a makeup service credit to expire after a certain time? ## Opus1.io allows you to set an expiration time for makeup service credits generated from cancellations. By configuring the cancellation settings for each service, you can choose to issue service credits for various types of cancellations.   You can set service credits generated from cancellations to expire after a specified amount of time with opus1.io.   How service credits are issued is configured on a per-service basis under the **Cancellation** tab for each service. You can choose whether to issue service credits for visit cancellations, late cancellations, and staff cancellations. Each type of cancellation has its own service credit policy which can be modified. To set an expiration date for service credits, choose the cancellation policy for which you'd like to set an expiration date and click the edit button (the small pencil icon).   ![1-May-27-2023-06-44-17-6326-AM](https://kb.opus1.io/hs-fs/hubfs/1-May-27-2023-06-44-17-6326-AM.png?width=688&height=360&name=1-May-27-2023-06-44-17-6326-AM.png)   Here, you can configure your cancellation policy and modify service credit attributes.   ![2-May-27-2023-06-44-36-1444-AM](https://kb.opus1.io/hs-fs/hubfs/2-May-27-2023-06-44-36-1444-AM.png?width=688&height=416&name=2-May-27-2023-06-44-36-1444-AM.png)   To set an expiration date for service credits, toggle on **Should a service credit be issued for a regular client cancellation have a validity period?** then specify the number of days after which the credits will expire.  **Service credits expire from the date of issuance when the corresponding appointment or session was canceled.** When you're done specifying an expiration window, click the blue **Update Service** button to save your changes.   Additionally, you can specify an expiration date for credits that are added directly to your clients' profiles. When adding a credit to your client's profile, toggle off the **Never Expires** button and set a **Valid Until** date.
