ACH Enablement

Opus1.io supports Bank Account (ACH – Automated Clearing House) payments, allowing businesses to accept payments directly from customers’ bank accounts.

With ACH payment processing enabled in opus1.io, you can securely collect payments from your customers via their bank accounts. ACH payments are supported and automatically enabled through Opus1 Payments, powered by Stripe.

How ACH Payments Work

When a customer pays using ACH:

  • Funds are pulled directly from their bank account
  • Transactions typically take 3–5 business days to settle
  • The invoice will not be marked as paid until settlement is complete

ACH vs Credit Cards

Below is a comparison to help you decide when to use ACH versus credit card payments.

ACH Payments

Pros

  • Lower processing fees compared to credit cards

Cons

  • Settlement time: 3–5 business days
  • Invoices remain processing until funds are fully settled
  • Partial refunds are not supported
  • Cannot be used for self-booking

Important Notes

  • While an ACH payment is pending, customers potentially cannot:
    • Self-cancel lessons
    • Receive make-up credits
  • Payouts to your bank account will also be delayed until settlement is complete

Credit Card Payments

Pros

  • Instant authorization
  • Can be used for self-booking
  • T+2 payouts: payouts accessible 2 days after the transaction
  • Supports partial refunds

Cons

  • Higher processing fees compared to ACH

ACH is a cost-effective payment option best suited for situations where immediate access to funds and flexibility (like refunds or self-booking) are not required. Credit cards, while more expensive, provide faster processing and greater flexibility for both businesses and customers.
